Bob Roberts has kindly sent a gallery of pictures taken by him whilst the build of Kev Slyfield's Pro Modified 1956 Ford Thunderbird took place at Eurodragster.com sponsor Robinson Race Cars.
Bob says This car had a long gestation period starting in 2010 for one customer and ending in 2014 with another customer Kev Slyfield.
The body in this case came from Suncoast with many small mods to suit its purpose as a Pro Mod. This chassis was one of the first fitted with the RRC double adjustable four-link brackets on the chassis. As originally built it had a sheet metal fabricated axle case which was later replaced as the engine began to make more power.
The car left the RRC workshops as a '55 but became a '56 with the porthole by the time it got to the track. Kev has had significant success in the car including MSA Pro Modified Championship in 2015 and running a five in 2019.
